Boulder County Awards $3.9 Million to organizations serving people with disabilities

BOULDER – Boulder County is awarding $3.9 million to 11 local organizations to provide direct, recreation and social activities for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.

They will receive their awards in 2026. Funding for the awards comes from Boulder County’s IDD Mill Levy, approved by voters in 2002.

“We are so happy to be able to help our partners provide more social and recreational activities and direct services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and brain injury across Boulder County,” said Boulder County Commissioner Claire Levy in a news release. “These funding awards reflect our commitment to build a more inclusive community, one where everyone can thrive and live a meaningful life. We are listening to people living with disabilities and their families so we can ensure our programs are both responsive and empowering. We are deeply grateful to Boulder County voters for making it possible to help provide these services.”

The funding awards will go to the following organizations:

• $156,839 to the Association for Community Living in Boulder and Broomfield.
• $649,602 to Boulder County Public Health (Children with Special Needs program).
• $205,347 to PLAY Boulder Foundation.
• $2,534,744 to Developmental Disabilities Center, also known as Imagine!
• $25,000 to Ignite Adaptive Sports.
• $50,000 to Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center.
• $57,092 to Community Link Social.
• $8,450 to Inclusive Acres of Boulder County.
• $51,500 to TLC Learning Center.
• $99,347 to Center for People with Disabilities.
• And $49,330 to the Town of Erie.
