Gogo operations chief resigns
BROOMFIELD — The chief operating officer at Gogo Inc. (Nasdaq: GOGO), a Broomfield-based provider of broadband connectivity services for the business-aviation market, resigned suddenly this week, effective immediately.
Michael Begler’s “departure from the Company was not as a result of any disagreement with the Company or its Board of Directors or any matter relating to the Company’s financials, operations, policies, or practices,” Gogo wrote Monday in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. “Mr. Begler will be entitled to severance benefits in connection with the departure in accordance with the terms of his Employment Agreement. The Company thanks Mr. Begler for his contributions.”
Gogo has not yet named Begler’s successor.
Begler took over as Gogo chief operating officer at the beginning of the year amid a c-suite shakeup at the Broomfield firm that accompanied its roughly $600 million acquisition of Satcom Direct Inc., a Melbourne, Florida-based in-flight communications company.
Gogo’s stock price has performed well since the Satcom acquisition. The stock was trading at $9.53 just before 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, up 1.41% on the day and 14.85% year to date.
