Feds provide Colorado with $12M for digital equity initiatives
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration recently provided Colorado with more than $12.3 million to fund implementation of digital equity initiatives established in the Colorado Digital Access Plan.
The initiatives aim to make web-enabled technology available to anyone regardless of geography or economic situation.
“Digital equity is about creating pathways to economic opportunity, education, and healthcare for our residents,” Colorado Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera said in a prepared statement. “With this federal funding, we’re taking concrete steps to ensure that every community across our state can thrive in today’s digital economy. This investment aligns with our administration’s commitment to building a Colorado for all, and we’re excited to see this work come to life in communities across our state.
