KS Industries to open regional office in Platteville

PLATTEVILLE — KS Industries LLC, a Bakersfield, California-based, energy industry-focused engineering and fabrication services company, will open a Rocky Mountains regional office in Platteville.

NAI Affinity, a real estate firm specializing in commercial properties, brokered the $2.25 million purchase of the industrial property at 804 Grand Ave. to KS Industries. The 7.49-acre site features approximately 27,000 square feet of industrial space and substantial yard area.

KS Industries serves diverse sectors including upstream oil and gas production, natural gas treating and transportation, refining, co-generation, heavy industrial markets and pipeline infrastructure.

“In addition to the availability of the real estate, the responsiveness, information and cooperation provided by the Town of Platteville and Upstate Colorado Economic Development played a key role in this transaction,” Ryan Schaefer, CEO of NAI Affinity, said in a prepared statement. “Weld County is open for business, and we are grateful for the jobs and investment that KS Industries is bringing to Northern Colorado.”

Schaefer and Lauren Larsen of NAI Affinity represented KS Industries as the buyer of the property, while Geoff Frahm and Chad Brent at The Group Inc. represented the seller, Serendipity Vineyards LLC, owner of previous tenant Advanced Oilfield Service. Frahm said the sale closed at the end of November.

KS Industries is renovating the building, with completion expected in February.

“Our move to Platteville represents a significant milestone for KS Industries,” owner Kevin Small said in a prepared statement. “This location offers us unparalleled access to key energy markets and provides an excellent foundation for our continued growth.”

KS Industries chose to locate in Colorado’s most productive energy region. Weld County leads the state in oil and gas production, accounting for 83% of crude oil and 56% of natural gas production in the state, according to Weld County’s Oil and Gas Energy Department.

This new facility will create approximately 50 to 100 new jobs in Weld County.

“We are excited to welcome KS Industries as they establish their new regional location in Platteville and Weld County,” Audrey Herbison, director of economic development at Upstate Colorado Economic Development, said in a news release. “Through our regional partnerships, we are able to support the attraction of high-caliber companies like this which contribute to economic growth. The jobs created at the new facility will support residents across the region. Investing in rural communities is the spirit of the energy industry and supply chain, and we are eager to see KS Industries’ success and growth in Weld County.”

Troy Renken, Platteville town manager, added that “the Town of Platteville is pleased to welcome KS Industries to our community and is looking forward to having a positive working relationship as they make Platteville their new regional headquarters. KS Industries has already made significant improvements to the newly acquired property and will provide long-term employment opportunities that will support our local energy production and overall economy. The investment that KS Industries is making in Platteville is greatly appreciated, and the company is a good overall fit for our community.”

KS Industries has multiple locations throughout the United States including California, Wyoming, North Dakota, Texas, and New Mexico.
