Vergent Products signs deal with Indian manufacturer to share potential clients

LOVELAND — Vergent Products Inc. of Loveland has signed a global strategic partnership with a large contract manufacturer in India.

Vergent and Napino Digital Solutions, based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India but with production facilities across India, have agreed to share customers as clients’ needs require.

“We’re a mid-volume manufacturing operation,” said John Sage, vice president for business development at Vergent. “When a job comes to us, our client may need a higher volume at some point, and when that happens, the client looks for cost reductions, often offshore.”

As Mental Health Awareness Month unfolds in Colorado, it serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritize mental well-being.

The deal with Napino means that Vergent can provide “a known-quantity handoff” to a larger manufacturer. “That’s what we’re excited about,” he said.

Sage said Napino does not have a footprint in the United States, so the deal permits it “to tell their client that it can start its production in the United States with Vergent.”

According to a press statement, Vergent Products, founded in 1995, is a “right sized partner” to help bring industrial, medical, aerospace and defense products to market. Vergent has invested in process controls and “an exceptional quality management system. … With product design and manufacturing under one roof in the United States, Vergent is an end-to-end product realization company uniquely positioned to deliver electromechanical products to market. Its unique combination of discipline and speed is what the clients love most about working with Vergent Products.”

Napino Digital Solutions is part of the Napino Group in India with a focus on design and development of internet-of-things products and solutions. Napino’s portfolio includes more than 25 IoT products in vehicle telematics, cameras, smart speakers, location and environmental trackers, wearable devices, modular IoT gateways, and access products for media and telecommunications. Napino works with IoT product companies and tier-1 automotive companies across India, the United States and Europe, according to the press statement.

Naveen Kumar Singh, CEO of Napino Group, concurred.

“We are excited to enter into this partnership with Napino Digital Solutions,” said Jay Dokter, president and chief executive of Vergent. “The two companies share a common vision of delivering exceptional quality to our clients. Napino’s manufacturing footprint in India and Vergent’s manufacturing footprint in the U.S. complement each other and enable us to each offer to our clients the ability to build products in either region with localized support.”

“Partnering with Vergent Products to deliver transformation for our clients will allow us to provide the very best business, and design and build the next generation of digital electronic devices,” Singh said. “Bundled with the exceptional delivery facility and manufacturing capability in the United States of America, this partnership will allow us to drive far more business impact for our clients.”

The collaboration between the two manufacturers came about because of a common connection with an investment firm, Sage said. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, he added, Vergent made contact with an investment firm that was helping to support a client. The investment firm knew about Napino and recognized similarities between the two operations. A connection was made.

Sage said the deal between the two companies is not a financial relationship but “purely a business lead-sharing arrangement.”
