New Greeley campus next for Orthopaedic Spine Center of the Rockies

GREELEY — Fort Collins-based Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies PC plans a medical campus in Greeley, its second location there and seventh in the region.

Sites are in Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, Lafayette, Westminster and Greeley. Westminster opened in June, and Greeley’s has been open five years. It’s on the third floor of a 16th Street medical building.

According to a press statement, the new Greeley campus will be on 12 acres along 20th Street between 59th and 61st Avenues. It’s near a slew of medical offices — vision, dental, family medicine, massage — in the Fox Run development. A 70-acre, city-owned youth sports complex is nearby.

MSK Holdings LLC bought the land in November for $3.4 million, Weld County property records show. MSK shares a Fort Collins address with the orthopedics and spine company and lists the latter’s CFO on secretary of state filings.

Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies does business as OCR following its acquisition in December of Longmont-based Front Range Orthopedics & Spine, which brought the buyer its location in that city.

OCR shuttered a Front Range location in Frederick which is marked as permanently closed in a Google search.

The second location in Greeley is envisioned as similar to the one in Loveland, an expansive facility with a significant streetscape and visibility along East U.S. Highway 34 or Eisenhower Avenue within the city.

The Loveland floor plan “has proven to support an excellent patient experience and provide a healing and calming environment,” OCR CEO Mike Bergerson said in the press release.

The new layout will include “a medical clinic, a physical and occupational therapy clinic, and imaging services [with an] ambulatory surgery and recovery center” in the future. Design work has begun; OCR anticipates a late-2023 opening.

Greeley Planning Manager Mike Garrott said no plans have been filed with the city yet.

OCR was founded in 1969 and has 41 physicians and 600 employees at its six sites.
