Grand Junction’s B&H Sports bought by Texas firm
GRAND JUNCTION — B&H Sports, a Grand Junction athletic and custom apparel company, has been bought by Dallas-based BSN Sports, according to a report form the Grand Junction Sentinel.
BSN Sports is a division of leading sporting goods marketer, manufacturer and distributor Varsity Brands.
B&H Sports owner Cory Carlson will shift to a branch manager role and the sales team will become employees of BSN, according to the Sentinel. The store has to liquidate most of its retail in 60 days.
Carlson told the Sentinel that the acquisition is “win-win-win” for both organizations.
BSN Sports, launched in 1972 has more than 2,000 employees across the country.
“This is precisely the kind of culture that constitutes an ideal fit with BSN Sports and we expect that the combined offering will create an incomparable one-stop shop for the western-Colorado area,” BSN President Terry Babilla said in a news release.
