CU Boulder, Lockheed Martin to unveil new partnership

BOULDER — The University of Colorado Boulder and aerospace giant Lockheed Martin on Thursday will announce a new multi-million-dollar partnership that establishes new academic programs.

Specifics aren’t being made public until Thursday, but school officials said the deal will also help create a stronger pipeline for research funding and workforce development.

The new deal will expand the working relationship between the school and the company that spans the past 24 years.

The existing relationship between the two has included at least 39 sponsored research projects in various departments across the CU campus and more than 1,400 CU alumni employed with the company.
