$600K missing from escrow accounts of 2 title companies

The state of Colorado has suspended the licenses of a mother-daughter team that owned a pair of title insurance companies based in the Cherry Creek area amid allegations that more than $600,000 is missing from their clients’ escrow accounts.

The Denver Post reports that Elizabeth Newell-Williams, 63, and Michelle Hernandez, 43, are suspected of maneuvered millions of dollard between more than a dozen bank accounts to give the appearance that all was well. Williams and Hernandez abruptly closed Foresight Title and Williams Title and Escrow Co. last month.
