Next Door holding contest for new name after settling lawsuit

Next Door food and drink in Loveland is holding a contest to come up with a new name for the restaurant after settling a lawsuit with Boulder-based The Kitchen Cafe LLC.

The Reporter-Herald reports that Next Door owner Jim Edwards and The Kitchen owner Kimbal Musk had a sit-down meeting without their legal teams to come to a resolution, the terms of which company officials for both sides declined to describe.

The Kitchen, which has three Next Door restaurants of its own, sued the Loveland restaurant in February alleging trademark infringement. Edwards told the Reporter-Herald that he’s already received more than 100 name suggestions so far and that he plans to pick one in the next couple of weeks.
