Excavation begins on Superior Town Center sports complex
Construction crews last week began excavation work for the Boulder Valley Ice and Indoor Sports at Superior, the first building in what is slated to be the massive Superior Town Center project.
The Daily Camera reports that foundations will be poured in coming weeks, and that a sizable portion of the 170,000-square-foot facility, which will include two and a half ice hockey rinks, will be open by September.
Superior Town Center is a 157-acre project at the southeast corner of McCaslin Boulevard and U.S. Highway 36. Plans for the project include 1,400 homes, a pair of hotels and 750,000 square feet of commercial space.
