House wind tax credit bill draws criticism

A short-term extension of the wind production tax credit by the U.S. House has drawn criticism from lawmakers as the wind industry seeks a longer-term tax credit policy to compete with fossil fuels.
The House voted this week to extend the tax credit retroactively over 2014. The production tax credit, which Congress renewed at the beginning of 2013, expired in December of last year. However, the wind industry this year benefited from the tax credit for wind projects that started in 2013.
