Event to feature women green-business leaders

BOULDER – Female executives of organic-products and environmentally conscious businesses will share their experiences Wednesday at the second annual Women Leading Green event in Boulder.

Presented by Fearless Revolution, a project of the Boulder-based nonprofit Living Green Foundation, the event will begin at 6 p.m. at eTown Hall, 1535 Spruce St. in Boulder.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $5 for students with ID, and $45 including the preceding VIP reception. Proceeds will benefit the foundation.

WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

Featured speakers will include Maria Rodale, chief executive and chairman of Rodale Inc., which publishes Prevention, Men’s Health, Organic Gardening and other periodicals;

Marci Zaroff, founder of Under the Canopy and CEO of I Am Enlightened Products;

and Zhena Muzyka, founder of Zhena’s Gypsy Tea.

The panelists will share perspectives on topics including launching a mission-based business, cultivating your vision, collaborating with partners and building a successful and sustainable brand.

The evening will include an awards ceremony, at which Living Green will recognize efforts of women in Boulder who are leading nonprofit activities.

“Each spends countless hours to ensure a sustainable future for all of us,” said Matthew King, president and CEO of the foundation, in a prepared statement. “This year we have selected a group of extraordinary women who serve in different nonprofit capacities yet work toward the same goal, a more sustainable future.”
