Scottsbluff hospital MCR’s silent partner

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – When the Medical Center of the Rockies opened to great fanfare in Loveland last month, few people were happier about it than Todd Sorensen, M.D., president and CEO of Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.

That’s because Regional West is a minority partner in the new hospital, having invested about $40 million in its construction and now holding 12 percent of its ownership.

“I think it’s really exciting,” Sorensen said. “Clearly, the growth in your region represents additional health-care infrastructure that was needed.”
