Counties need help in fighting fraud, theft

When the Federal Trade Commission released its consumer fraud and identity theft reports in early February, many in Northern Colorado were shocked to see the Greeley metro area, which encompasses most of Weld County, at the top of the list for consumer fraud complaints. The report also showed Greeley at No. 6 in the nation for identity theft complaints.

The Fort Collins/Loveland metro area appeared on the list as well, at No. 50 in the nation for consumer fraud and No. 119 for identity theft.
