US Cable stakes claim to new franchise territory

Cable television is a more than 50-year-old luxury. It’s hard to imagine that there is much uncharted territory when it comes to cable in the United States, especially in Northern Colorado.

In its pursuit to expand in the region, however, US Cable found cable’s no-man’s land in Severance – and claimed it.

“They didn’t have a cable provider,´ said Dave Kavenaugh, Colorado manager for US Cable.

John Holdren, town manager of Severance, said US Cable approached the town about forming a franchise agreement.

“I think it’s going to be a win/win situation for US Cable and the town,” he said.
