Bolta’s blue-light special combats winter doldrums

BOULDER – Charles Bolta wants to illuminate the world with a better bulb – his just-patented Blue-Lux light.

The technology uses two kinds of light – in the blue spectrum and white – in one bulb to provide a light that, he says, benefits vision, health and work efficiency.

Bolta, chief executive of Gunbarrel-based American Environmental Products Inc., says improper lighting can bring on a host of issues at work – headaches, absenteeism and poor productivity, and in school – difficulty concentrating.
