Gas prices pumped up compared to last year
Motorists in Northern Colorado will find gas prices slightly higher than last summer as they hit the road for the Fourth of July weekend.
According to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the average cost of self-serve regular unleaded gas in the Fort Collins-Loveland area was $1.491 per gallon as of this morning, up 4.7 percent over the same time last year.
In Greeley, AAA reported an average of $1.45 a gallon, up 2.2 percent over last year.
Colorado’s statewide average was $1.496, up 5.2 percent from July 3, 2003.
Among the cities surveyed, the most expensive fuel in the state is in Vail at $1.78 per gallon. The cheapest fuel was in the Boulder-Longmont area, at $1.426 per gallon.
