Hair academy teaches art of men’s cut

BOULDER — Men’s hairstylists from Thailand, New Zealand, France, Germany and other countries around the world regularly travel to Boulder to learn new hair-cutting techniques at the Menswork Academy.

The academy for professionals seeking ongoing education in hairstyling for men is operated by American Crew, a Denver-based manufacturer of hair products for men.

Menswork Academy Director Jeanne Brauch said Boulder was selected three years ago because of its affordable hotel rates and relaxing atmosphere.

“You could open an academy in a huge city like New York or Milan, but we wanted a relaxing place for our stylists to come to,” she said.
