Colt Reproduction Center takes e-printing by reins, joins worldwide network

BOULDER – When Jim Colt relocated from Michigan to Boulder 25 years ago, he planned to open a bicycle shop. But once he arrived in Colorado, he realized the bike store market already was saturated and changed his plans.

Colt fell back on eight years of experience managing a Xerox printing center and opened his own shop, Colt Reproduction Center, now one of the largest quick printers in Colorado. At first, Colt was the only employee. Since then the printer has grown to house 25 employees.

Christopher Wood is editor and publisher of BizWest, a regional business journal covering Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties.
