Dream Chaser to head west for flight tests
The full-scale flight-test version of the reusable Dream Chaser spacecraft built at Sierra Nevada Corp.’s Louisville-based Space Systems division is ready for its closeup.
The Boulder Daily Camera reports that the vehicle unveiled Thursday will be transported to NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in California, where flight tests will be conducted in coordination with Edwards Air Force Base. The spacecraft eventually will be used to haul food, medicine and other items needed for long-term space missions.
