Aurora med-tech company acquired by Chinese firm

AURORA — A Chinese medical-device company has acquired Sharklet Technologies Inc., an Aurora-based medical-technology company.

The Denver Business Journal reports that Peaceful Union, based in Hangzhou, China, acquired Sharklet for an undisclosed sum.

Sharklet produces a textured product designed to inhibit growth of bacteria on health-care devices such as catheters. Sharklet is headquartered at the Fitzsimons Science District near the University of Colorado Anchutz Medical Campus. The company employs about 20 people.
