Alpine Training Center raises $13K for Nederland fire relief
NEDERLAND — The Alpine Training Center in Boulder completed its annual SkiErg Challenge, pivoting its decade-long tradition of raising funds for climate action to focus on local disaster relief. The event has raised $13,200, with a final tally pending, to benefit the “Ashes to Action” fund, supporting businesses and residents of Nederland impacted by the devastating October 2025 fire.
For the past 10 years, the challenge has raised funds for Protect Our Winters but shifted to supporting those severely impacted by the Nederland fire, which destroyed the Caribou Village Shopping Center and caused widespread disruption in the mountain community.
The event included 36 teams, including four dedicated children’s teams. All team fees, raffle proceeds and donations were committed to the “Ashes to Action” fund, an initiative supported by Eldora Mountain Resort and the Nederland community focused on rebuilding.
