Colorado Teardrops moves into expanded HQ

BOULDER — Colorado Teardrop Trailers LLC, a company that makes teardrop-style trailers and operates as Colorado Teardrops, is relocating to a new, larger headquarters.

The new facility, located at 1750 55th St. in Boulder, accommodates a new state-of-the-art manufacturing space. It will also include space for sales, operations, research & development and a showroom. The 8,000-square-foot location is double the size of the company’s previous Central Avenue facilities.

Colorado Teardrops was founded in 2014 in Boulder by Dean Wiltshire, with the goal of providing streamlined and comfortable teardrop trailers to adventurers. The company has been quickly growing this year, with a seasonal pop-up shop in Denver in June and the hiring of IT veteran Robert Petty as CEO in August. Wiltshire was appointed as chairman.

“I think the early success of our company is due, in part, to the new type of outdoor enthusiast that has emerged in the outdoor and travel industries: those looking to adventure and get off the grid without having to sacrifice convenience and comfort,” Wiltshire said in a prepared statement. “Our customers are diverse. In any given week, we’re designing and building trailers for peakbaggers, retirees, weekend warriors, young families — you name it, we serve them. Our trailers are for anyone who wants to escape the crowds and enjoy the outdoors.”

Looking ahead, Colorado Teardrops plans to continue its growth spree, with attendance at regional trade shows, consumer events and enhanced digital marketing.

“Up until this point, our growth has been mainly word of mouth and organic. We’re extremely excited for our expansion and this next chapter in our business,” Wiltshire said. “Our goal is to continue to offer the highest quality trailers at the best value, and be able to serve more people. We’re building adventures and creating lifelong memories for our customers. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
