Affordable-housing projects underway in Adams County, Westminster

WESTMINSTER – Two affordable-housing projects broke ground in Denver’s northern suburbs this week — the 142-unit Baker School Apartments in Adams County and the 118-unit Eaton Street Apartments in Westminster — just a week after the release of a report describing housing in Denver as “seriously unaffordable.”

The Denver Post reports that the Baker School Apartments, at 3555 W. 64th Ave. in unincorporated Adams County, will consist of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. The project received more than $1 million from Adams County Housing and Urban Development funds.

The Adams County Housing Authority, Growing Home, St. Anthony Hospital and Red Rocks Community College will offer services at Baker School Apartments, including after-school programs, financial planning assistance and pop-up medical and dental screenings.
