Colorado ranks No. 4 nationwide in wind-energy employment

Colorado ranks No. 4 nationwide in wind-industry employment, according to a report by the American Wind Energy Association, cited by The Denver Post.

Colorado has 6,000 jobs in the sector, led by Vestas Wind Systems A/S, which has plants in Windsor, Brighton and Pueblo.

Wind-industry employment overall increased by 15,000 jobs nationwide in 2016, reaching 102,000, according to the report. Wind-energy production increased by 26.1 percent in Colorado last year, reaching 9,425 MWh. The rate of growth was seventh nationwide, with wind-energy generation the eighth-highest in the country.
