Cool Planet raises $19M in new funding

GREENWOOD VILLAGE — Cool Planet Energy Systems, an energy company that uses agricultural byproducts as fuel, has raised $19.28 million in new funding.

BusinessDen reports that Cool Planet has raised at least $170 million in total funding since its inception in 2009, based on documents on file with the US. Securities and Exchange Commission. Investors have included BP and Google Ventures, with 25 investors participating in the latest round.

Cool Planet heats wood chips and other agricultural byproducts to produce fuels for transportation.
