Anadarko announces plan to drill 50 horizontal wells in Fort Lupton
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC) announced on Tuesday a major drilling plan for southern Weld County that includes drilling as many as 50 wells in the city of Fort Lupton.
The Greeley Tribune reports that the drilling is expected to start this fall. The new horizontal wells would be the company’s first in the town, and are part of a plan to drill more than 300 in the broader surrounding area.
Anadarko officials claimed that the wells would generate more than $300,000 in tax revenue apiece.
