Fort Collins, Boulder two sites for Galvanize 24-hour hackathon

Galvanize will host a 24-hour hackathon March 27 and 28 in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and San Francisco with the aim of supporting women in technology.

Dubbed gHack, the event will begin at 5 p.m. Mountain time on the 27th and run through 5 p.m. on the 28th. Teams of coders will choose one of three challenges to solve with technical solutions. Specifically, they’ll create applications, websites or software that make it easier for female entrepreneurs to run a business. Each team will have at least one female participant.

Money will be raised through sponsorships and donors, and 100 percent of proceeds from the event will go to Women Who Code, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring women to excel in technology careers.

Exploring & expressing grief

Support groups and events, as well as creative therapies and professional counseling, are all ways in which Pathways supports individuals dealing with grief and loss.

Galvanize, a network of co-working and developer education campuses, will host the event at its Denver, Boulder and San Francisco campuses. The Fort Collins site is still being determined as Galvanize continues to build out its campus in that city with hopes of opening in August.

Those interested in participating in the hackathon as a developer, volunteer or attendee can register online for their individual cities: Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins or San Francisco.

Charitable donations to the Galvanize Foundation and Women Who Code can be made by emailing gHack@galvanize.it.
