Esprit Tech Alliance Breakfast features new technologies

BOULDER – The Esprit Entrepreneur Technology Alliance Breakfast takes place Tuesday, Oct. 17 at the St. Julien Hotel from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

This year’s event will feature five new technology concepts from the University of Colorado Technology Transfer Program. The presenting companies represent different stages of their product development and the technologies featured include:

_ Innovations in telecommunication technology that could significantly improve communications for metro area networks, WiMAX and cable distribution.

_ Lab-on-a-chip technology that can determine specific genetic subtypes of influenza viruses within 11 hours.
_ A technology using sunlight to produce Syngas from biomass feedstock, a renewable resource.

_ A device that converts the energy in radiowaves to a DC current, eliminating the need to store significant amounts of energy through the use of a battery in sensors and medical devices.

_ A tool kit approach to genetically engineer tolerance in microbes for chemical production from biomass feedstock.

The breakfast also will include updates from one of the technologies presented at last year’s event.
