The second annual Crayons to Calculators Corporate Challenge attracted 31 corporations that provided backpacks of school supplies, cash and employee volunteers to help assemble backpacks. These corporate contributions enabled Crayons to Calculators to provide backpacks of school supplies valued at $52,695 to 889 students.

“The Crayons to Calculators Corporate Challenge allows companies to participate in whatever way works best for them, said Francie Anhut, chief executive officer of Impact on Education, Crayons to Calculators’ organizer. “We hope that the companies who participated this year will spread the word so that we have hundreds of organizations helping thousands of students in years to come.”

The Boulder Rotary Club, Boulder County Business Report, Camera, Corporate Express, Times-Call and Western Disposal Services helped sponsor the event.

Crayons to Calculators is a collaboration among the Boulder Valley School District, Education Foundation for the St Vrain Valley, Foothills United Way, Fish Inc. of Broomfield, Impact on Education, I Have A Dream Foundation of Boulder County, Sister Carmen Community Center and the St. Vrain Valley School District. It received a 2008 IQ Award in August from the Boulder County Business Report.
