Exempla foundation hires executive director

LAFAYETTE – The Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation has hired Bob Roby to lead its fundraising efforts.

Roby recently was named the vice president and executive director for the foundation, which raises funds for programs of the Exempla Good Samaritan hospital in Lafayettte.

Roby, whose background is in fundraising campaigns, cultural arts, public works and capital improvement campaigns as well as community redevelopment and outreach, has worked for the Arvada Center in addition to serving as an executive with the city of Arvada, Arapahoe County and Saunders Construction.

For Exempla, he will be tasked mainly with raising money to support programs at the new Comprehensive Cancer Center that is slated to open in the fall.

He will also oversee other various fundraising projects, including the Good Sam Bike Jam for cancer patients, Baby’s First Ride car seat checks, Exempla Cares internal campaign for hospital associates, and other programs to ensure that the hospital has the most up-to-date equipment.

“We are excited about Robert’s background for our hospital and our foundation,” Sandy Cavanaugh, vice president of business development and community relations, said in a press statement. “Our community will benefit from his time and talent.”
