State transportation committee to tour Northern Colorado

The Transportation Legislation Review Committee will tour parts of Northern Colorado this week to hear public comment on Colorado’s roads, bridges, public transit and regulatory programs.

The committee will begin its tour with stops in Fort Morgan and Greeley on July 24, and will stop in Fort Collins the following day. During the stop in Fort Collins, committee members will tour the MAX Bus Rapid Transit project, the first project of its kind on the Front Range.

“This statewide tour will serve to educate lawmakers and citizens alike about the crisis we are facing with the condition of our roads and bridges,´ said Sen. Rollie Heath, vice-chair of the committee.

The Greeley hearing will take place in the University Center Conference Room at UNC, located at 2045 10th Ave., beginning at 3:30 on Wednesday. In Fort Collins the hearing will take place in the East & West Room in the Longs Peak Student Center at Front Range Community College, at 4616 S. Shields St., beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

The MAX tour will follow the Fort Collins hearing at 11 a.m.

The Transportation Legislation Review Committee willl tour other parts of the state in August and September.
