Angel investment group to hold marijuana summit

DENVER – Rockies Venture Club will hold the first Cannabis Capital Summit on May 29, bringing together marijuana-industry leaders, venture capitalists, angel investors, banking and legal experts, and entrepreneurs to address potential risks, opportunities and the future the new industry.

Investing in marijuana presents an entirely different set of risks than investors are used to, said Peter Adams, executive director for the Rockies Venture Club, an angel investment group founded in 1985.

“Serious investors are beginning to express intense interest in the industry,” Adams said in a statement. “But there’s a lot of confusion and questions from both investors and entrepreneurs. Our goal is to help change that.”
