Kaufman elected chair of transportation commission

DENVER – Bill Kaufman, former state representative from Loveland, has been elected chairman of the Colorado Transportation Commission.

Kaufman, who has served as a commission member since July 2003, represents District 5 that includes Larimer, Weld and Morgan counties. A Republican attorney, Kaufman served as a state representative from 1992 to 2000.

Kaufman recently agreed to serve as chair of Embrace Colorado, a citizen-based “visioning” planning effort spearheaded by the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization to develop strategies to deal with the region’s transportation and other growth-related issues.
