Kaufman elected chair of transportation commission
DENVER – Bill Kaufman, former state representative from Loveland, has been elected chairman of the Colorado Transportation Commission.
Kaufman, who has served as a commission member since July 2003, represents District 5 that includes Larimer, Weld and Morgan counties. A Republican attorney, Kaufman served as a state representative from 1992 to 2000.
Kaufman recently agreed to serve as chair of Embrace Colorado, a citizen-based “visioning” planning effort spearheaded by the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization to develop strategies to deal with the region’s transportation and other growth-related issues.

The Colorado Transportation Commission also elected Kim Killin of Holyoke as its new vice chairwoman. Killin, also an attorney, has represented District 11 — which includes Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties — since January 2005.
