Parameter Technologies to be acquired by Atlanta company
FORT COLLINS — Parameter Technologies, a Fort Collins-based company that develops monitoring and detection solutions for data centers, utilities and critical infrastructure, has agreed to be acquired by Atlanta-based Acuity Inc. (NYSE: AYI) for $675 million.
News releases from both companies differed on the transaction’s predicted closing date. One issued Monday by Parameter said the deal would close late this year, while one from
Acuity said it would be completed in the second quarter of 2027.
Whenever the transaction closes, Parameter will become part of Distech Controls within Acuity’s Intelligent Spaces business segment. Distech specializes in building controls, combining open protocols and tools with edge controls, cloud intelligence and an open go-to-market model.
According to a news release from Parameter, it “will benefit from access to this technology and Acuity’s scale, while building on our existing work with Distech across shared-system integrator, distributor and cooling-equipment OEM relationships. Together, Distech and Parameter can connect our sensing, detection and monitoring technology with Distech’s controls to help customers to be able to detect problems and resolve issues earlier and better protect mission-critical operations.”
Parameter was born in December 2024 with the merger of battery-monitoring firm NDSL Group and RLE Technologies. RLE Technologies was acquired in 2023 by Chicago-based private-equity firm May River Capital, which then combined the two entities under the new Parameter platform name.
Parameter’s corporate headquarters are at 4557 Denrose Court, and the original facility for RLE Technologies remains open at 104 Racquette Drive.
“We have built our business around technology that customers trust to protect critical equipment,” Parameter CEO Michael Blazes said in a prepared statement. “Joining Acuity allows us to build on that success. Together, we can bring our technology to more applications, help customers identify issues earlier and take action to better protect their operations.”
Peter Han, president of Acuity, said Parameter “has built a high-performing business that is highly complementary to Distech’s portfolio. By combining Parameter’s sensing, detection and monitoring technology with Distech’s edge controls, we expand our capabilities in data centers and deepen relationships with channel partners. This builds on Distech’s proven ability to solve customer problems and scale adjacent technologies that support durable growth for Acuity Intelligent Spaces.”
Until the transaction closes, Parameter and Acuity will continue to operate independently, and Parameter will remain focused on serving its customers and partners.
Acuity has two business segments, Acuity Intelligent Spaces and Acuity Brands Lighting. With headquarters in Atlanta, it has operations across North America, Europe and Asia and has around 13,000 employees.
Parameter Technologies develops monitoring and detection solutions for data centers, utilities and critical infrastructure through its RLE Technologies and CellWatch brands. Besides its Fort Collins operations, it has engineering and service operations in Raleigh, North Carolina, and sales and service capabilities in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.
According to Acuity’s news release, Parameter expects to deliver sales of approximately $100 million for calendar 2027, representing growth of more than 30% year-over-year, and EBITDA margins of approximately 40%. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to Acuity Intelligent Spaces revenue growth and margins.
Acuity said it anticipates funding the transaction using $500 million in borrowed money and the remainder with cash on the balance sheet.
