The Werks to open Boulder bar, bowling alley, bike shop

BOULDER — The Werks, a Wheat Ridge-born hospitality concept that combines a brewpub, bowling alley and bike shop, plans to open its second location next week in Boulder.

The Boulder outpost at 3390 Valmont Road in the S’park development will debut next Monday, Oct. 26, according to social media posts from The Werks.

“Burgers? Absolutely. Beer? You know it. Bowling? Obviously. A new bike you didn’t know you needed? We won’t judge,” the company wrote on Instagram, noting that the Boulder location is hiring in advance of its launch.

The Denver Post reported early this year that The Werks’ first location was opened in January in the former Paramount Bowl space in Wheat Ridge by owner Paul Porter.

While The Werks prepared to open, about a mile away Wahoo’s Fish Taco has quietly shuttered its 2790 Pearl St. location. Several other Denver metro area Wahoo’s have also closed in recent months. The company did not respond to questions from BizWest about the future of the still-open Wahoo’s in Longmont.
