Vero Broadband completes acquisition of Telephone Electronics
BOULDER — Vero Broadband LLC has completed its acquisition of Telephone Electronics Corp., continuing a string of acquisitions for the broadband fiber company.
The acquisition of Jackson, Mississippi-based TEC expands Vero’s presence in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, with the combined company reaching 444,000 households, including markets under construction.
TEC will continue to operate as an independent brand, with local leadership remaining in place, the companies said in a press release. Vero, which does business as Vero Fiber, will invest additional capital into the TEC network to support continued expansion.
“What drew us to TEC wasn’t just the network,” Sunita Krishna, CEO of Vero Fiber, said in a prepared statement. “It was the people and the reputation they’ve built serving their communities. Bringing TEC into the Vero family means we can accelerate bringing reliable fiber internet to more people and do it with a team that already knows what local trust looks like. We’re excited to build on that together.”
Scott Pell, president of TEC, said, “Joining forces with Vero provides TEC with the capital and scale needed to accelerate our growth while continuing to serve our communities with the same community focus and dedication. Our customers can expect the same trusted service, now supported by the resources and innovation of a national platform.”
Founded in 2017, Vero Networks designs, builds, owns and operates fiber infrastructure that serves retail consumers, K-12 schools, government entities, enterprises, wireless and wireline carriers and hyperscale/cloud providers across the U.S. The company’s parent, VFN Holdings Inc., in February secured a $500 million investment to fuel its investment strategy. Vero last year acquired Montana Digital LLC and BendTel Inc., based in Bend, Oregon.
