Foundation awards $64,775 in equity funding

BOULDER — Community Foundation Boulder County has awarded $64,775 to 23 grantees as part of its three equity funds.

This year’s grantees, selected by community volunteers, will receive the money to support Boulder County’s Latino, LGBTQ+ and veteran communities.

Aimed at improving the quality of life for Latino communities, Boulder County veterans and their families, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning people and allies, the BRAVO Fund, Veterans Fund and Open Door Fund make up the foundation’s Equity Funds.

“Community Foundation Boulder County’s work is rooted in creating a strong, resilient community where everyone can thrive,” Tatiana Hernandez, CEO of the foundation, said in a prepared statement. “Our Latino, LGBTQ+ and veteran communities are facing systemic, chronic and emerging challenges. Through the work of these Equity Funds, we strive to identify and support community-driven solutions to those challenges.”

Sarah Harrison, vice president for programs at the foundation, said the work nonprofits do to support these communities can’t be taken for granted.

“As we see shifts in funding and programs it’s critical that we continue to partner with nonprofits supporting our Latino, LGBTQ+ and veteran communities,” she said. “We’re proud to work alongside knowledgeable volunteers serving on the BRAVO, Open Door and Veterans Fund committees to support organizations providing vital services across Boulder County.”

BRAVO Fund grantees for 2025 included Boulder Food Rescue, El Comité de Longmont, Espacios para Jóvenes, Immigrant Legal Center of Boulder County, Padres Involucrados en la Educación and YWCA Boulder County.

Veterans Fund grantees included A Way Forward, Cultivate, Focus Reentry, Qualified Listeners, TRU Community Care and Veterans Community Project.

Open Door Fund grantees included Boulder County AIDS Project, Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, Boulder County Public Health OASOS program, Dancin’ Divas, Indigenous People’s Community Church, Local Theater Company, Lyons Pride, Queer Asterisk, Rise Against Suicide, Rocky Mountain Equality and Camp Indigo.
