Downtown Boulder unveils 50th Anniversary Logo of Pearl Street Mall
BOULDER — The Downtown Boulder Partnership has unveiled the 50th Anniversary of the Pearl Street Mall.
The Pearl Street Mall was dedicated in 1977 as an experiment as a pedestrian-focused mall, and it has evolved into “the most beloved community gathering spaces in Colorado – a symbol of Boulder’s creativity, vitality, and enduring local spirit,” according to a press release.
The Mall’s 50th Anniversary will be in 2027. The logo “pays homage to the businesses that have shaped its character over its five decades. …” the release said.
The logo includes elements from several longtime Pearl Streat establishments.
“The Pearl Street Mall has been Boulder’s living room since August 6, 1977,” said Bettina Swigger, CEO of the Downtown Boulder Partnership in the release. “The thoughtful design of this logo celebrates our past while setting the stage for a future of continued creativity and connection between people, businesses, and shared spaces.”
Terri Takata-Smith, Vice President of Marketing for the Downtown Boulder Partnership called the logo a “love letter to the entrepreneurs, dreamers, and community members who make Pearl Street such a vibrant place.”
The logo is just the beginning. A series of celebrations will begin 2027.
All the events will be highlighted on the 50YearsOnPearl.com website and on @downtownboulder social media.
