Arula Consulting – Social Enterprise
2024 Community Builder Awards
Fort Collins-based Arula Consulting helps nonprofit organizations identify funding sources and implement plans to alleviate financial burdens for long-term success. The company collects most of its fee only after the successful award of grant funding to a nonprofit.
It helps nonprofits with grant readiness, fund development, bookkeeping and training.
Additionally, Arula has started funding a foundation to which nonprofits can apply for financial assistance when hiring a consultant. Services are not limited to those Arula offers, as the fund can be used to hire any consultant, from interim leadership to financial audits. The goal of this fund is to ensure that organizations who are in hard financial times can continue providing the services the community needs while working their way back to financial solvency.

With nearly 10 years in the nonprofit world, Alex Koenigsberg started the company in 2018 after realizing that every grant writer he met required payment of their fee upfront. He knew there was a more equitable way and decided to tap his own knowledge and experience to provide this service while sharing in the risk with the nonprofits.
Koenigsberg and his team assist dozens of nonprofits and initiatives, mostly in Colorado but also throughout the country.
He also works as business development officer for Quorum Prosthetics and Rocky Tech. He is responsible for a myriad of initiatives at each company, including sales, partnerships, marketing, investments, grants, loans and more.
As well as his “day jobs,” Koenigsberg volunteers as a board advisor to One Leg at a Time, delivering prosthetics to those in need. He also is one of the founders and organizers of the Fort Collins Top Dog event, in which the winning dog’s image is emblazoned on a can of Odell Brewing Co.’s beer.
