State may buy Shoshone Power Plant water rights
Colorado may buy the Shoshone Power Plant water rights, which are owned by Xcel Energy.
The Colorado Sun reported that the Colorado Water Conservation Board voted Monday to commit $20 million toward the $98.5 million cost of the rights, which will become available after the utility closes the power plant and no longer needs the water to operate.
