Justin’s, Applegate donate to Conscious Food Alliance

BOULDER — Justin’s LLC and Applegate have joined forces to donate $30,000 to Conscious Alliance’s “Stop Hunger in Its Tracks” holiday meal campaign.

Conscious Alliance is a Broomfield-based hunger-relief organization that seeks to bring healthy food to children and their families in need.. Boulder-based Justin’s produces nut butters and other food products, while Bridgewater, New Jersey-based Applegate produces natural and organic meats.

Justin’s and Applegate are encouraging like-minded companies and consumers to  support the “Stop Hunger In Its Tracks” campaign by donating products and making monetary donations. The campaign seeks to raise $250,000, the equivalent of 500,000 meals.

Consumers may make monetary donations at this link. Consumers who donate will be entered for a chance to win a charcuterie basket with Applegate and Justin’s products.

Conscious Alliance seeks to eliminate food waste, with 108 billion pounds of food going to waste each year, while an estimated one in 10 people are food-insecure.

“Applegate, Justin’s, and Conscious Alliance have come together to change this. We believe no one should go hungry and no food should be wasted. So we’re taking action to make a real difference for people across the nation,” Justin Levy, executive director at Conscious Alliance, said in a prepared statement.

Justin’s was founded by Boulder entrepreneur Justin Gold. Justin’s and Applegate are subsidiaries of Hormel Foods.
