NoCo branches: Alpine Bank coming, Bank of Colorado going

Editor’s note: This report was edited to clarify that Bank of Colorado is maintaining a presence in Fort Lupton.

Glenwood Springs-based Alpine Bank is opening a branch in Fort Collins, while Fort Collins-based Bank of Colorado appears poised to close its downtown branch location in Fort Lupton.

Requests for both moves were approved in late June, according to Colorado Banking Division documents.

The Fort Collins outpost of Alpine Bank, the institution’s first in the city, will be at 1608 S. College Ave.

According to plans submitted to the city in 2020, the two-story branch will be about 5,000 square feet with two drive-through lanes.

On its website, Alpine says the Fort Collins location will open this year.

The nearly 50-year-old bank is employee owned and has $6.3 billion in assets.

The Colorado Banking Commission in June signed off on a request from Bank of Colorado to close its branch at 605 Fourth St. in Fort Lupton. Bank of Colorado has a main branch about a half mile from the downtown Fort Lupton location and the bank will retain a full-service ATM in the downtown area, according to Shawn Ostoff, president of the bank.

Bank of Colorado operates branches in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado in Loveland, Greeley, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Johnstown. It also operates a loan-production office in Boulder.

The institution has more than $6.5 billion in assets and more than $5.7 million in deposits.
