Elevations Foundation awards grants to 14 organizations

BOULDER — Elevations Foundation, the charitable arm of Elevations Credit Union, has granted $55,000 to 14 nonprofit organizations across Colorado. Every year, Elevations Foundation awards community grants to organizations that are making an impact across the state.

According to a press statement, the foundation determines its priorities for the year based upon local research to see if there are gaps in services in Colorado. This year’s grantees are organizations working in the fields of early childhood development, mental health and environmental education and sustainability.

“This year’s inspiring grantees were selected from a pool of over 50 applicants,” said Eric Lentz, executive director of Elevations Foundation. “Each applicant amazed us with their passion for and commitment to their community. We are honored to be able to support organizations that are making real change.”

In Colorado, 1 in 3 women, 1 in 3 men and 1 in 2 transgender individuals will experience an attempted or completed sexual assault in their lifetime. During April, we recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month with the hopes of increasing conversations about this very important issue.

This year’s grantees are Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County, The Growing Project, Larimer County Partners, Audubon Rockies, Growing Gardens, Access Opportunity, Recovery Café Longmont, Ocean First Institute, early childhood nonprofit The Matthews House, Cottonwood Institute, Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition, CHARG Resource Center, Ray of Hope Cancer Center and Revital Colorado.

“The funding we are receiving through Elevations Foundation will continue to support our work with students who have experienced learning loss due to COVID-19,” Nicole Armstrong, executive director of The Matthews House, said in the press statement. “All people deserve to belong and feel they are significant and grants like these allow us to serve the most vulnerable youth and families in our communities.”

One of the organizations recognized this year, the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County, received an additional $5,000 as this year’s Members’ Choice grantee. The Members’ Choice grantee is selected by Elevations Credit Union members.

Elevations Foundation has provided more than $579,600 in community grants since 2010.
