Gaia matches Wall Street revenue, earnings marks

LOUISVILLE — Streaming video provider Gaia Inc. (Nasdaq: GAIA) saw revenue rise in the third quarter of 2021 while earnings per share dropped relative to the same period last year.

That’s right on par with what analysts projected for the Louisville company.

Revenues increased 17% to $20.4 million in the most recent period, up from $17.5 million in the third quarter of 2021.

Earnings were $0.03 per share in the third quarter of 2021, about one tenth of the earnings posted in the same period last year. 

Zacks Consensus Estimate for revenue was $20.35 million and for earning was $0.03 per share.

Gaia’s quarterly report was released after the close of trading Monday, a day that saw the company stock rise nearly 4%.

“The third quarter of 2021 marks another quarter of disciplined execution against our plan to generate net income and cash flows while driving revenue and member growth,” said Paul Tarell, Gaia’s CFO. “Now that we are consistently generating positive net income and cash flows from operations, we are focused on growing both average revenue per member and the overall member base.”

The company boasted 790,500 paying subscribers as of Sept. 30, 2021, up from 770,200 when the company reported its second quarter results in August.
