AeroGrow posts record Q3 sales

BOULDER — AeroGrow International Inc. (OTCQB:AERO), a Boulder-based manufacturer and distributor of indoor-gardening systems, posted net revenue of $18.5 million in the third quarter of the fiscal year. That represents a 43 percent increase from the same period last year and a quarterly record for the firm.

The company turned a roughly $535,000 loss in the third quarter last year into a $1.2 million profit during the most recent quarter, according to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings. 

“Results for the third quarter of our fiscal year 2020 were exceptional,” AeroGrow CEO Michael Wolfe said in a prepared statement.  “With sales up 43 percent and solid growth in all of our channels, the highly successful launch of a new line of products and the introduction of a very effective marketing program, I believe this was the best quarter in the company’s history.”

Specifically, the company highlighted the successful launch of AeroGarden Bounty, the company’s high-end table-top gardening system.

“Also during the third quarter, we debuted an all-new marketing campaign designed to raise awareness of the AeroGarden brand,” Wolfe said in a statement. “Using a careful testing and roll-out strategy, this campaign deployed television, digital and social media to optimize the delivery of our marketing message.”
