Longmont’s Circle Graphics absorbs digital billboard printing firm

LONGMONT — Circle Graphics Inc., a Longmont-based producer of large-format digital graphics, has acquired Ohio-based digital billboard printing firm Metromedia Technologies Inc.

“We are excited to be combining such an iconic company as MMT into our operations,” Circle Graphics CEO Andrew Cousin said in a prepared statement. “We will benefit from MMT’s added capacity, expertise in areas such as wall graphics and transit, and an expanded roster of some of the best out-of-home customers in the world. We are in a competitive industry, and production volume is a key requirement that allows us to invest in continuous improvements in our factories, invest in product research and development, and bring our customers more sophisticated software solutions.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Circle Graphic employs roughly 600 people across its United States operations.

Metromedia, founded in 1987, is recognized as an outdoor-advertising pioneer specializing in large-scale campaigns in retail environments and entertainment venues such as sporting arenas.

“We are confident Circle Graphics will continue MMT’s long history of innovation and dedication to [out-of-home] success, and I am looking forward to working with … the Circle Graphics team to make a smooth transition for our staff and valued customer relationships,” Metromedia president Bill Ishida said in a statement.
