Hotel Boulderado deemed one of nation’s best historic hotels

BOULDER — Historic Hotels of America, an arm of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, has named Boulder’s Hotel Boulderado a finalist for its 2019 Awards of Excellence. 

Hotel Boulderado, built in 1909, was nominated in the Best Historic Hotel (76-200 Guestrooms) category. Boulderado’s Laurel McKown was also named a finalist for Hotel Historian of the Year.

Other Colorado finalists were Steve Bartolin at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and Eugene Lucas at The Cliff House at Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs. Both were nominated in the Steward of History and Historic Preservation category.
