Inscripta taps biotech industry vet to CFO position
BOULDER — Inscripta Inc., a gene-editing technology company, has hired Ron McGrath to serve as the firm’s chief financial officer.
McGrath has held leadership and financial roles for more than 25 years in the biotechnology and information technology industries, most recently vice president of finance at DNA sequencing firm Illumina, according to an Inscripta news release.
“Ron has tremendous experience in scaling teams and organizations in the U.S. and internationally, and we believe this will be an invaluable asset as Inscripta moves forward on the path to commercialization of our genome engineering platform,” Inscripta CEO Kevin Ness said in a prepared statement. “His track record of success is impressive, and I am delighted to welcome him to the company and look forward to his expert advice and input as we prepare to launch our platform later this year.”

McGrath’s hire comes at a busy period of fundraising for Inscripta. The company added $20 million in Series C funding from existing investors earlier this month, bringing the total raised for the round to $105.5 million.
